What makes a home historic depends on who you ask. At F.E. Trainer Construction, we consider a home built prior to 1950 to be historically significant. Up until the 1950s, almost every home built in East Tennesse was unique in many ways, and many were built using timless materials that require a delicate touch such as slate or tile roofing, timber frame construction, real stucco, and/or handmade bricks. The list goes on and on, which is why it's important to select a general contractor who is well-versed in renovating old homes.
