Historic Renovations

Historic properties demand an added level of expertise

F.E. Trainer Construction, Inc. has earned a reputation as a leading expert in historic renovations across East Tennessee. Having worked on dozens of historic properties, this award-winning construction company is uniquely positioned to help homeowners revive and revitalize their historic home.

What makes a home historic depends on who you ask. At F.E. Trainer Construction, we consider a home built prior to 1950 to be historically significant. Up until the 1950s, almost every home built in East Tennesse was unique in many ways, and many were built using timless materials that require a delicate touch such as slate or tile roofing, timber frame construction, real stucco, and/or handmade bricks. The list goes on and on, which is why it's important to select a general contractor who is well-versed in renovating old homes.

F.E. Trainer has earned many awards over the years from various organizations for their renovation work in historic neighborhoods across Knoxville, including Sequoyah Hills, Westmoreland Estates, and Island Home, among others. F.E. Trainer is also an active member of Knox Heritage and is dedicated to helping preserve Knoxville's past through their historic renovation services.
